Who Completes The Title 24 CF-6R form?

The 2005 Title 24 regulations require that the homeowner or contractor installing the equipment complete a CF-6R form.  The completed CF-6R form must then be give to the HERS Rater prior to the inspection and verification.

Below are direct links for CF-6R forms and an example.

CF-6R Form Completed  (Example only)

If you need additional help in completing the CF-6R form, please call us direct.  Without a completed  CF-6R form a HERS Rater cannot rate or register a residential or nonresidential building.  Upon completion of the CF-6R form and a "pass" rating by the HERS Rater results in the generation of the CF-4R form by the HERS Rater.  City Building Code Enforcement department requires a CF-4R form prior to building occupancy. CF-4R forms are sent to the contractor and the appropriate city building department by AV CHEERS.  DO NOT ALLOW OCCUPANCY OF A HOME WITHOUT A CERTIFIED CF-4R FORM.

City building code enforcement are now trained on Title 24.  All homeowners/contractors must submit a CF-4R form to the city with their final permits to meet compliance and avoid any city penalities.  It is illegal to have occupancy of a home without a HERS rater certified CF-4R form.  A CF-6R provides the HERS Rater with the information that must be validated.  Once the information is validated by the rater a CF-4R form will be generated from the California Energy Conservatory agency.
